Opposition and police race together
A photo report about the action of solidarity that took place in Minsk yesterday The action of solidarity with the repressed and with the families of missing politicians started in October Square on April 16. However, it ended in an unusual place: the police made its participants walk 6 kilometres away from the venue and they had to run the last kilometre. ERB presents its photo report about solidarity and healthy lifestyle.
Usual participants were accustomed to the initial actions of the police. Nothing indicated that the events could continue in some other way.
Policemen allowed participants to stay in one place for 10 minutes and than started dispersing them.
The people were led to “Belexpo” centre and let off. Pavel Sevyarynets urged them to return to October Square but they encountered a blockade organized by special police troops. The police decided to make them walk much farther that time.
The procession walked along the quay.
Sevyarynets kept reminding the special police troops to step aside but they did not listen to him for some reason.
The procession rushed forwards singing and dancing. Young people decided to run a bit.
The leader of the special police troops asked for permission to be photographed with young activists. He kept joking a lot. For example, when he was asked about the itinerary, he replied that they were going to drown the activists and advised them to leave.
The walk continued in the park area.
The special police troops left “the last heroes” near Arlouskaya Street. Sevyarynets noted that members of our police troops were not really good at racing. They ran gaspingly. He also promised to give a Lenin’s order to everyone who followed them till the end.
P.S. I asked a reporter from a Russian newspaper “Kommersant” who followed us till the end:
- What are your impressions about the action?
- It was fun. Your opposition is funny and the police are also funny.
