Opposition leader murdered in central Tbilisi

The leader of the Georgian opposition movement Guram Sharadze was killed on Sunday evening in the center of the capital, Tbilisi. The killer got out of his car and made two shots at his victim, leaving Sharadze lethally wounded at the head and the chest. The criminal attempted to hide, but the police arrested him.

The killer is identified as Georgiy Barateli, the 30-year old orphan who was guarded for several years by Sharadze and lived at his house. In an earlier row, Barateli felt hurt by his guardian and the two did not see each other for several years, according to Georgia Online.
