Opposition nominee for election commission drafted by Army
Aleh Pronski, an activist with the Movement for Freedom, has been urgently draftedto serve in the army. On Wednesday, he was taken from his office to the conscription office in Masty, Hrodna region. On Tuesday, January 26, his name was nominated as a member of the Hrodna regional electoral commission. Upon graduating from the Hrodna Agriculture University, Aleh Pronski, 22 has wored as a foreman at a state-owned farm in the village of Ragoznitsa, according to the mandatory assignment.
Yesterday, he received a phone call from the conscription office which asked him to come on Wednesday. He refused to report to the conscription office without a summons. However, today he was taken by force to the conscription office and is expected to be dispatched to his army post on January 28.
