Opposition politician Lyabedzka fined for disappeared politicians topic
Minsk's Kastrychnitsky District Court ruled to fine Anatol Lyabedzka with Br875,000 ($300) for taking part in an action to commemorate the kidnapped and murdered politicians and journalists in Belarus, reports the web site of United Civil Party.
Court officers are ordered to seize the property of UCP leader. Mr Lyabedzka describes the verdict as "illegal and politically motivated". "This is an absurd decision. One can make me pay fines, but nobody can force me to refuse from the goal of putting those responsible for the killing of the kidnapped politicians (Yury Zakharanka, Viktar Hanchar, Anatol Krasouski) for trial by an independent court", said Lyabedzka.
