OSCE technical mission organizes long-term mission of observers for Belarus
The technical mission of the OSCE Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights (ODIHR) has recommended sending a long-term mission of observers to watch the presidential election campaign in Belarus. It is said in the reports prepared after a visit to Minsk. BelaPAN reminds that the mission visited Belarus on September 27-29. It is planned to send 40 long-term observers to Belarus. They will watch the election process all over the country. The technical mission also recommends sending 400 short-term observers to our country. They will watch the process of voting on the election day and will monitor the poll and the way election committees fill in protocols.
Short-term observers should start their work earlier to be able to watch the process of early elections.
The mission of long-term observers is planning to arrive in Belarus in the middle of November. The head of the mission and its composition have not been chosen yet. The mission is expected to start being formed soon.
