Over 1000 trucks stranded at Russia-Latvia border
Over 1000 heavy-weight trucks have been stranded at the Russian-Latvian border, reports the Baltic News Service (BNS) agency.
Long queues are routine there since August last year.
Latvia says Belarus's seasonal restrictions on the transit of trucks through its territory are one of the reasons of border congestion.
Similar situation was observed in spring 2007 when Belarus had to lift restrictions ahead of the schedule.
But effective from May 25, Belarus reintroduced new restrictions for the transit of trucks in day-time.
