Over 700 Minskers change names
709 residents of Minsk officially changed their surnames and names this year. According to the justice department at Minsk City Hall, nearly the same number of Minsker changed their passport details in the same period of 2008. Usually, people change their names when they sound embarassing. Faithfuls often request to change their names with the ones they received during baptism, reports Minsk Novosti news agency.
