Owner of Velcom becomes person of year in Austria
The most influential Austrian magazine Trend has announced the director general of Telekom Austria Group and Mobilkom Austria Group Boris Nemchishch to be the person of 2007.
One of the reasons for getting such a prize was the fact that the company entered the Belarusian mobile market. It happened due to the purchase of the control stock of a mobile operator VELCOM.
Telekom Austria Group bought 70% of a Cyprus SB Telecom Ltd. that is the only owner of a mobile operator Velcom for about 730 million euro in October 2007. Telekom Austria is also going to buy the remaining 30% till the end of 2010.
