PACE to discuss situation in Belarus

The Political Committee of the Council of Europe's Parliamentary Assembly (PACE) today is scheduled to discuss the situation in Belarus. The European lawmakers will hear a preliminary version of the PACE's report on the conditions with the human rights in this country. The report was written by Andrea Rigoni, PACE's Special Rapporteur on Belarus. He visited Minsk in October 2007.

Two Belarusian delegations are invited to Strasbourg. The official delegation is headed by members of the Belarus's National Assemblly, Natallya Andreychyk and Aliaksandr Arkhipau. The opposition delegation includes Vintsuk Vyachorka and Viktar Karnyaenka. All of the visiting Belarusians will voice their positions to the members of the Political Committee at the PACE, reports Radio Svaboda.
