PACE's main speaker on Belarus Sinika Hurskeinen arrives in Minsk
The main speaker of the sub-committee on Belarus of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) on political issues Sinika Hurskeinen arrived in Minsk. According to Sinika Hurskeinen, her aim is to collect information, to meet with people and to discuss what is happening in the country.
According to the words of Hurskeinen, broadcasted by BelaPAN, she is mostly interested in how the situation is developing in 3 directions - human rights, democracy and supremacy of law.
The Deputy Head of the House of Representatives Viktar Guminski expressed his certainty that Belarus will sooner or later become the full fledged member of PACE, during the meeting with Sinika Hurskeinen.
The visit of the Head of PACE sub-committee on Belarus will last for 3 days. Hurskeinen is going to meet with the representatives of the official authorities and the opposition.
