Pavel Seviarynec might be released soon
The administration of the department of corrections in Navapolack has decided to recommend the early release of the youth opposition leader Pavel Seviarynec. A local court is scheduled to hold hearing on this tomorrow. The politician was on a leave from May 16 through May 20 in Vicebsk where he learned the news about his possible return from exile.
Pavel Seviarynec is the founder of the Malady Front, the co-chairman of the organizing committee on the establishment of the Belarusian Christian Democrats. In 2005 he was tried and sentenced to correction labor for staging youth protests against the rigging of the referendum that approved the third presidential term for Aliaksandr Lukashenka, according to Charter'97.
