Photo correspondent Yulia Darashkevich faces trial
Security agents tried to enter the apartment of Yulia Darashkevich, a photo correspondent with Nasha Niva newspaper, in the evening of March 15, reports the web site of the newspaper. Her husband refused to open the door. But the agents departed only after Darashkevich promised to meet Police Inspector Andrei Saladun with her lawyer.
The police also visited the parents of the journalist. They told them that she is to stand trial on March 24. She is accused of injuring a police officer during the February 16 solidarity action on October Square. Some 30 people were detained during the action on that day.
Yulia Darashkevich was then released without charges.
