Picket against pre-term voting forbidden in Homel

Homel city executive committee has not allowed to conduct a picket on the Human Rights Day on December 10. The human rights activists Leanid Sudalenka and Anatol Paplauny wanted to explain the citizens their right not to vote pre-term at this mass event, BelaPAN reports. The executive committee's officials grounded their refusal on the fact that the applicants had not paid for communal services and the services of policemen and doctors, as required by the executive committee's decision. The officials also stated there was the only place for conducting mass events in the city - a ground in front of the "Vipra" palace of culture. The human rights activists wanted to conduct a picket at the Rebellion Square.
