Picket in solidarity with Alexander Kozulin okayed in Minsk
The Minsk City Hall has approved one of the three applications from the Belarusian Social Democratic Party (Hramada), seeking permission to stage pickets in solidarity with the jailed party leader Alexander Kozulin, reports Belapan.
The picket, to take place on October 24 on Arlouskaya Street, aims to demand the release of the former presidential contender and to inform the public about the operation of the party.
The action is timed to mark the anniversary of Kozulin's 53-day-long hunger strike in prison. At the same time, the city authorities rejected applications for similar pickets in two parks located in different parts of the city.
