Poetry feast in Yanka Kupala Park in Minsk
A poetry feast dated for the 125th anniversary of the national Belarusian poet took place in Yanka Kupala Park today.
The department of culture of Minsk City Executive Committee was the feast’s organizer.
Guards of honour and girls in national costumes with red carnations were standing along the two alleys leading to the monument to Kupala and around it.
Flowers from the President, and state and civil organizations including the Union of Writers of Belarus were laid to the monument.
Victar Shnip, Raisa Baravikova, Mikola Myatlitski and Mihas Pazdnyakou read their verses dedicated to the Singer.
A bard Radamir Velich sang the song “My thought” – Yanka Kupala’s verse set to music.
