Police Day celebrated in Belarus

The Day of the Police is celebrated in Belarus on March 4.
The so-called “people’s police” was organized on this day in 1917 instead of the unarmed police and gendarmerie in Minsk. It was headed by a Bolshevik Mihail Frunze. The police became an official organ of the Soviet Belarus in 1919.

Alyaksandr Lukashenka congratulated the police on the professional holiday: “I am sure that you will continue being the best example of service for the good of the people while solving the existing problems. Belarusian citizens are sure that they will always get your help and support. You main task is to justify this hope”.
