Police detained Belarusian criminal authority in centre of Moscow
A Belarusian criminal “authority” known as “Bira” was detained in the centre of Moscow yesterday.
45-year-old Uladzimir Birukou was announced wanted by the Belarusian police. “The legal criminal” is accused of legalization of his criminal income, tax evasion, swindle and blackmail.
Birukou was born in Babruisk. He controlled the town. More than 300 active members of his criminal grouping worked in Babruisk by the mid 1990s. Bandits controlled town markets and laid entrepreneurs under tribute. They controlled private entrepreneurs and even state enterprises.
According to the chief department for prevention of organized crime subjected to the Belarusian Ministry of Internal Affaires, the issue of extradition of Birukou to Belarus is not considered because he is a Russian citizen.
