Policemen offer to partol Kurapaty at extra cost

Minsk Department of the Interior has offered its paid services to guard Kurapaty. This was the reply received by the Belarusian voluntary association for protection of historical and cultural monuments when it asked Minsk Executive Committee to establish security in the tract – a mass burial place of victims of Stalin’s repressions.
According to the police, the guarding would cost 20 million roubles a month. It would be necessary to build a special guardhouse in Kurapaty and to surround the tract with a fence. However, civil activists hope to solve the problem of security in Kurapaty with officials authorized to do it, informs BelaPAN.
