Prince Uladzimir’s relics were delayed at the border because frontier guards wanted to touch them
According to Victar, the driver of the car that delivered Uladzimir’s relics to Minsk, the way to the Belarusian capital was longer than 1.5 thousand kilometers, informs “Narodnaya Hazeta”.
Priests set off from Kiev but they were not allowed to cross the border – they lacked one document. They had to return to Kiev. After that the relics were delivered to another check point. Customs officials let them pass without having to wait in the queue of about 300 cars. However, they were delayed again.
Frontier guards asked for permission to touch the relics. Victar also explained that they had some difficulties in Belarus too – “we couldn’t find a filling station, all of them were either closed or didn’t work. Finally we found one but the petrol pump stopped functioning right when we were drawing petrol from it...”
