Putin: Creation of single customs area to be finally approved on May 21
The heads of the Russian, Belarusian and Kazakhstan governments will meet on May 21. They are expected to take decisions about the introduction of the single Customs Code and creation of a single customs area after the meeting. The Russian Prime Minister Uladzimir Putin has informed about it, reports RIA “Novosti”. The meeting of Prime Ministers of the three states should take place in Saint Petersburg.
The single Customs Code of the Customs Union should come into power on July 1. The states reached one of the key agreements the other day – they agreed on the way of distribution of the income made on import duties among Customs Union member states: Russia will receive 87.97% of collected payments, Belarus – 4.7% and Kazakhstan – 7.33%.
