Pyatkevich invited to speak at Social March
The opposition has invited several Belarusian high-ranking officials to join the Social March on November 4 in Minsk.
The organizting committee issued official invitations to Natallya Pyatkevich, the deputy head of the president's administration, Syarhey Sidorski, Belarus Prime Minister, Vadzim Papou, the Speaker of the Parliament, and Leanid Kozik, the chairman of the Trade Union Federation.
Organizers wrote to Pyatkevich that she could even give a speech in order to explain the position of the government as regards the abolition of social bebefits. The Social March's organizers also plan to a have a preliminary meeting with Natallya Pyatkevich, reports Charter'97.
The European March's organizers also hoped to have a meeting with Pyatkevich, but she wrote in respond that they should seek contacts with Minsk Mayor Mikhail Paulau.
