Radio “Racyja” journalist thinks Prosecutor’s Office violated his rights
Journalist Barys Haretski has been warned by the General Prosecutor’s Office for working without accreditation today.
Haretski has been summoned to the Prosecutor’s Office to give explanations about his cooperation with Belarusian “Radio Racyja”. In particular, he was interrogated about the events of January 17 when he had been detained near Minsk KGB Office while interviewing political prisoners’ relatives.
"The conversation took about an hour. I refused to answer most of the questions referring to constitutional right not to witness against self", — said the journalist to UDF.BY.
He thinks that the actions of the Prosecutor’s Office were a violation of his right to collect, preserve and distribute information.
