Rejected teenager gets three years for setting woman's home ablaze

A district judge in Baranavichy has imposed a three-year "restricted freedom" sentence on a teenager who set a neighbor's house on fire for rejecting his advances.

The teenager sneaked into the divorced woman's house at night, and jumped into her bed. When she tried to find out who he was, he ran away. The boy later set fire to her house and barn. The judge ordered that the teenager's parents pay one million rubels for firefighters' services.
