Action in support of Syarhei Kavalenka takes place in Brest

According to the information provided by BelaPAN, they pasted about 100 leaflets in the most crowded places of the city. The leaflets bear pictures of Kavalenka and the judge who made the sentence, and the following sign: "You think this has nothing to do with you? Just wait for the new GULAG". The activists say that they wanted not only to turn the public's attention to Syarhei Kavalenka's destiny but also to express their protest against political repressions in our country.

On March 20, the Bresters also sent letters to Kavalenka's parents, in which they expressed their support and hope for the quick release, and congratulated them on the upcoming Freedom Day.

Let us remind you, Syarhei Kavalenka is on a hunger strike as a protest against the sentence which he considers unfair. On February 24 he was sentenced to two years and a month of imprisonment in a minimum-security colony.
