BPF Party: Putin’s visit causes large-scale repressions
Deputy Head of the party Ihar Lyalkou has made a political statement connected with the Russian President’s visit to Belarus.
He has drawn attention to the fact that “any strengthening of contacts between the official Minsk and the Kremlin has always meant political repressions and persecution of dissenters for the Belarusian people”. Lyalkou has recalled repressions directed against opposition members in Minsk and “repressions directed against Belarusians in Russia” (he means “extremism” in Irkutsk Oblast).
The BPF Party has urged the Russian authorities to stop the politically motivated prosecution of the youth club “Krivichy” of Irkutsk accusation of Belarusian Culture named after Yan Chacherski and to stop persecuting Irkutsk Belarusian activists Aleh Rudakou and Alyaksei Kuhta. The BPF Party has also demanded that the Belarusian authorities “should stop using administrative persecution for political repressions directed against Belarusian youth activists”.
