"Human Rights Watch" urges to drop charges against Byalyatski
The international human rights organization has made a public statement.
In their opinion, the Belarusian authorities should drop charges against Ales Byalyatski and release him immediately, informs Radio Liberty. “Human Rights Watch” claims that the authorities are trying to eliminate the work of human rights activists in Belarus by prosecuting Byalyatski.
The communiqué also says that the Belarusian government has been refusing to register independent human rights organizations for several years. As a result, such organizations like “Vyasna” have been unable to open banking accounts in Belarus and act according to the local financial legislation.
Let us remind you that the trial of the head of “Vyasna”, Ales Byalyatski, will begin on November 2.
