Salihorsk activists start getting their equipment back
Local opposition members Paval Batueu and Larysa Nasanovich have become the first lucky people to get their property back.
"I called to the local KGB department and asked them whether they were going to return my personal belongings. They promised to call me back later, -a member of the BPF Paval Batueu has told. – The KGB members did not call me, but the next day I got a phone call from the police - the caller spoke Belarusian and politely asked me to come to the police department and take the seized equipment back".
According to the activist, all things which had been confiscated right after the election were returned in good working condition - a computer, a USB-drive, and CDs.
As for the "Tell the Truth!" activist Larysa Nasanovich, she did not get all the equipment back. Computer hardware, some books and "Tell the Truth!" materials were seized from her a year ago. "About a week ago policemen returned everything apart from books about the Second World war. Probably, they considered them "extremist literature", - Nasanovich has told.
Entrepreneur Tatsiana Kuchynskaya, who coordinated the activity of Uladzimir Nyaklyaeu's electoral HQ, still did not manage to get her things back. She filed an appeal to the public prosecutor's office, but received no reply. Kuchynskaya is going to address to the law-enforcement authoritties once again in the nearest days with a request to return her personal belongings, the human rights center "Viasna" informs.
