US official discusses Belarus issues with Russian human rights activists

The situation with human rights in Belarus was one of the topics of the meeting of the Under Secretary of State for Political Affairs William Burns with Russian human rights defenders. The radio station "Voice of America" has informed this with a reference to the head of the Moscow Helsinki Group Liudmila Aliakseeva.

Burns' visit to Moscow took place on February 9-10. The American diplomat arrived to discuss the key issues of bilateral relations and the international agenda. He met with the representatives of the higher state authorities of Russia, civil society and business circles, BelaPAN reports.
