Rights defender to go on trial
Vitsyebsk-based human rights defender
Leanid Svetsik goes on trial on June 10. He is accused of ethnic hate crime. He was charged with inciting
ethnic hate and defaming Belarusian leader Alyaksandr Lukashenka in 2008, but
the second charge was dropped.
Judge Halina Urbanovich is
expected to examine him and five alleged victims, Svetsik told ERB.
