Russia extradites Belarus gangster
Aleh Chyrkou, one of the leaders of the "fire-fighters" gang, has been transferred from Moscow to Homel. He was arrested in the Russian capital in 2006. Homel region-born Chyrkou is treated as one of the organizers and participants of the gang in the "fire-fighters" criminal case.
The first trial took place in 2007, when 18 gangsters were sentenced to prisons terms from 4 to 15 years for extortion and murder attempts. The Homel Regional Court is now hearing the second part of the case.
Belarus expects at least five more gangsters associated with the case to be extradited from Russia, reports Interfax.
