Russian man, wanted by Interpol for 12 years, detained in Hrodna region
Belarusian border guards and policemen arrested a Russian national who was wanted by the Interpol for 12 years. The detention took place in the Voranava district near the border town of Radun in the Hrodna region, Belarus's Border Control Committee spokesman Alexander Tsishchanka told the European Radio for Belarus. "He was wanted since 1996 for grave crimes committed on the territory of Russia. He was hiding in Belarus under a new name since 1998".
According to Tishchanka, the Russian committed several felony crimes, including hooliganism, robbery and murder.
The illegal migrant will be deported to Russia for trial.
