Russian wanted Belarusian customs officer to complete documents for 20 Tajiks

A Russian citizen was arrested for an attempt to bribe Belarusian customs officers. The incident took place at Belarusian-Russian border.
The Russian needed stamps in the passports of 20 Tajiks proving that they crossed the border. It would have allowed the gastarbeiters to get permission to work in Russia.

The officer was offered 13.5 thousand Russian roubles for the service. However, the Belarusian did not accept the money. The Russian with passports has been detained and he may be imprisoned.

“Interfax” reports that a similar incident took place at the border in Homel Region. Customs officers were offered the same sum of money for completing documents for the same number of Tajiks.
