Scientists create steering committee of movement “For nuclear-free Belarus”

A steering committee of the movement of a group of scientists “For nuclear-free Belarus” has been created in Belarus. Yahor Fyadzyushyn, Yury Varonezhtsau, Heorhi Lepin, Ivan Nikitchanka and others have joined it. The steering committee promises to try “to bring their ideas to the senses of all officials”. They strongly object to the construction of a nuclear power plant in our country.

An appeal to Belarusian and foreign scientists has been adopted at the meeting of the steering committee of the movement “For nuclear-free Belarus”. It says that “Belarus is the country that suffered most because of the so-called peaceful atom”.

That is why scientists object to the allocation of nuclear weapons and their elements in our country, to the construction of a nuclear power plant and to radioactive waste storing, informs BelaPAN.
