Scientists fire Hadron collider
Grand Hadron Collider, the world's most powerful particle accelerator, was today powered up below the Swiss-French border.
The experiment aims to send the beams of protons in the opposite directions, to speed them up to near the light-speed and clash them afterwards with huge energy. Scientists expect that new elementary particles will be detected during the clash, thus giving new clues to the Big Bang.
Experts maintain that the collider experiment is safe, but there are many of those who are getting ready for the doomday, reports Interfax.
