Semidwarf apple and pear trees to be planted near Belarusian NPP

Apple-trees and pear-trees will bloom near the Belarusian nuclear power plant. It has been decided to plant an orchard in the mini-town for employees of the NPP in Astravetsk District. The director-general of the “Hrodna fruit growing” association Victar Kirei told ERB:

“We are planning to make an orchard and a green-house. It will fit in the town’s infrastructure which will be self-sufficient and create more vacancies. People living in the town will be engaged in all projects here”.

According to Kirei, the orchard may be planted this year and it is being projected at the moment. The majority of its trees will be semidwarf and dwarf apple-trees which will make it easier to gather in the harvest.

"The orchard will be ahead of everything!”, - says Victar Kirei. It will be possible to gather in the harvest near the NPP in 3 or 4 years while the first energy is expected to be produced in 2016.
