Sergei Ling: Privatization in Belarus is an anti-crisis measure

Privatization in Belarus could be regarded as an anti-crisis measure, Belarus's former prime minister Sergei Ling said during a meeting of board of directors of the Belarusian Science and Industry Association. He partially agreed with the statement that there is no crisis in Belarus in the sense that its epicenter is not located in Belarus. However, our country cannot just disregard the crisis, in the view of Mr Ling.

He reckons that Belarus's chances to attract investments in the conditions of the crisis are growing due to the country's geogrphical location, stable government, the measures to secure bank deposits and qualified labor force.

The former head of the government advises to focus on foodstuff and medicine production as the best way out to counteract the crisis.
