Shushkevich proposed for Nobel Prize
Stanislau Shushkevich, the former speaker of Supreme Council of independent Belarus, may be nominated for the Nobel Prize as proposed by former Polish president Lech Walensa, reports open.by. Shushkevich is credited for his role in withdrawing the tactical and strategic nuclear arsenals from the territory of Belarus without any preconditions. For this, Shushkevich received a peace prize in Poland in 2008.
