Silitski: SB's article is an attempted revenge to European politicians
Vital Silitski, the director of the Belarusian Institute for Strategic Studies, has commented on the publication in Belarus Segodnya (SB) newspaper of "compromising materials" against the Belarusian opposition. In the article, Silitski was named among alleged external consultants for Speak the Truth! campaign, reports Nasha Niva.
"My name is mentioned vaguely as if Fyaduta was to offer this job to me", notes Silitski. He maintains he did not work for the campaign. He was sick most of the time when the campaign was working. Afterwards, he just criticized the work of Speak the Truth!
"Such documents display the level of government's analysis. Obviously, the article gathered all hearsay about friends and partners over the past 10 years". Silitski also noted that the author of the article is not knowledgable enough in opposition and European affairs.
Vital Silitski described this publication in SB as an attempted revenge to European politicians who initially engaged in negotiations with Lukashenka and now began criticizing him -- (Polish foreign minister Sikorski) and (German foreign minister) Westerwelle.
Silitski also pointed out that "two months ago Lukashenka kept saying that Sannikau and Nyaklyaeu was supported by Moscow. There is not a single word about it now".
