Singer Victor Kalina freed from prison under amnesty

Singer Victor Kalina, 41 has walked out free from prison thank to an amnesty. He was sentenced to five ana a half years in prison for swindling.  Kalina served his term in a colony in Navapolatsk. His wife, also jailed for four and a half years, had been released one week before.

Belapan reminds that in June 2007 Minsk's Pershamaiski District Court found Victor and Sviatlana Kalina guilty of large-scale swindling (they received an insurance payment for their allegedly stolen car). During the trial. the singer pleaded guilty partially, but his wife did not plead guilty at all.
