Solidarity action with Union of Poles takes place in Brest
An action of solidarity with the unofficial Union of Poles in Belarus took place on February 19 in Brest, reports Belapan. The action was held from 1800 to 1830 near the monument of Adam Mitskevich. Some 20 people took part in the action. According to participant Iryna Laurouskaya, an appeal of solidarity and support to the Union of Poles was read out "to back up their course of struggle for dignity, truth and constitutional rights of the citizens of Belarus".
"Our peoples have lived on this land for many centuries and tried to build good relations between themselves and their neighbors. Regardless of religions we fought together for your and our freedom. Today, this struggle has continued and will not end before Belarus becomes truly free and independent", said the appeal.
All the action participants signed the statement which has been sent to Union of Poles leader Anzhalika Borys.
