Student warned over contacts with pro-democracy activists in Mazyr

The administration of the Mazyr State Pedagogical University has reprimanded Katsyaryna Manchuk, a third-year student at the technologies faculty, that she should not have meetings with the activists of the youth pressure groups. In February, the girl was among the several dozens of activists detained near Minsk. She was later seen having contacts with the members of the committee that organizes the Belarusian Christian Democracy party. Manchuk is confident that she was warned because of those actions.

She said that during a conversation with a vice chancellor of the university, an unknown man was present, making notes without posing any questions. Katsyaryna Manchuk was told that she could be expelled from the university if she did not make conclusions from this conversation.

The girl was even threatened with a prison term, reports Belapan.
