Supreme Court postpones hearing of high-ranking official's beating case

The Supreme Court of Belars has postponed to hear the case of Zyanon Lomats, the chairman of the inflential State Control Committee, who was assaulted and beaten, at the request of the victim.
The new date of the trial is set for November 14. Belarus's Prosecutor General Piotr Miklashevich said earlier that three KGB agents and one Security Council staff were facing criminal charges in this case, reports Interfax.

The defendants are accused of "exceeding their authority and use of force". Two defendants are being held in custody, while the other two have made a written undertaking not to leave the country. According to Miklashevich, the case was treated as a classified investigation.
