Sviatlana Baikova for home arrest
The former investigator of the General Public Prosecution Sviatlana Baikova has been transferred to home arrest from the KGB prison. The General Public Prosecutor of Belarus Ryhor Vasilevich refused to prolong the term of Baikova's imprisonment. This was informed to the European Radio for Belarus by the representative of the press-center of the General Public Prosecution of the Republic of Belarus.
Lidzia Dzianisenka: "The General Public Prosecutor of the Republic of Belarus has decided not to prolong the term of imprisonment of Baikova on August 24. She is now at home. The investigation have chosen another restrictive measure - home arrest. The term of investigation of the criminal case has been prolonged by the General Public Prosecutor till October 9, 2010".
Let us remind you, Baikova has been imprisoned since February 2010. She is accused of excess of authority and illegal relief from criminal responsibility.
