Syarhei Ryzhou drops out of presidential campaign

One more presidential contender has claimed that he has stopped collecting signatures and withdrawn his candidature. BelaPAN informs that it is Syarhei Ryzhou, the head of the external economy sector of Vitsebsk fruit and vegetable plant.
The contender made a public announcement and noted that his initiative group had not managed to collect the necessary number of signatures to register Ryzhou as a presidential contender.

He thinks that the reason for it is not only the fact that his initiative group had little experience but also the absence of financing and the pressure exercised by the authorities.

Ryzhou also says that the absence of a single candidate as an alternative to Alyaksandr Lukashenka is a mistake. However, he also considers some politicians’ appeals “to organize active resistance to the current authorities and to bring people “to the square” with further unpredictable results” “a tragic mistake”.
