Tell the Truth! campaign activist Mikhas Bashura charged with forgery

Tell the Truth! campaign activist Mikhas Bashura has been charged with forgery under two paragraphs of Article 380 in the Penal Code of Belarus. His lawyer Tamara Sidarenka told Belaruspartisan.org the activist was expected to be transferred from Minsk to Zhodzina on August 18. Bashura is facing forgery charges. Two years ago, Bashura allegedly submitted a false salary statement, overvaluing his income. He acted as a warrantor to help get a bank loan for his wife. Bashura was detained on August 6. Human rights lawyers describe this criminal case as politically motivated.
