Three women sentenced for elections rigging in Russia

Three women were sentenced to suspended prison term in the Vurnary district of Russia's Chuvasia Republic.
In October 2006, they worked as members of a local electoral commission during the vote to elect members of the republic's state council. The women signed for the bulletins of the voters who in fact did not take part in the vote.

It is not clear how this crime was revealed or how many signaturs they forged. A local court found the women guilty and sentenced them to 2.5 years in prison as suspended service, reports www.gazeta.ru
