Tourism authority pushes for cheaper Belarus visas

The Ministry of Sports and Tourism is interested in reducing costs of the Belarusian visas, said Viktar Yankavenka, director of the tourism department.

This move will help "preserve the flow" of tourists which arrive in Belarus in the conditions when the Schengen zone has expanded and visa costs have soared, the official said.

Yankavenka noted that the Ministry of Sports and Tourism had already proposed to reduce unilaterally the cost of the Belarusian visa down to Euro 20, reports Belapan.

The issue is under study, the official added.

Foreigners from 130-140 countries visit Belarus, according to Yankavenka.
