Trials of protesters continue in Minsk
The trials of 10 participants of the protest actions in the Belarusian capital in January 2008 today continued at Minsk's Central District Court.
The list of those being tried includes: Andrei Kim, Mikhail Pashkevich, Alyaksei Bondar, Uladzimir Syarheyeu, Artsyom Dubski, Ales Straltsou, Andrei Charnyshou, Anton Koypish, Mikhail Kryvau and Tatsyana Tsishkevich. Kim is the only one who is locked in a cage.
The defendants were interrogated yesterday. They did not plead guilty. Some of them refused to testify, citing their Constitutional rights. Witnesses were also questioned, but only the police officers who had detained Kim testified against the activist. Other witnesses did not support the testimonies of the police witnesses.
