Trials of September 9 action’s participants are closed

Human rights activists, relatives and journalists are not allowed to enter the Central District Court where hearings of the cases of the detained participants of the yesterday’s protest action are taking place. A human rights activist Valyantsin Stefanovich has claimed to BelaPAN that the trials are actually closed. According to Stefanovich, policemen have blocked the building of the court. Human rights activist are preparing a complaint about policemen’s actions and are going to demand to allow them to attend the hearings. However, they have to bring the complaint to room 306 and they are not allowed to enter it.

Let us remind you that 17 participants of the action that took place in the capital on the evening of September 9 will stand trial. Democratic activists tried to conduct a protest action to oppose to the deployment of Russian troops in Belarus for their participation in the maneuvers “West-2009”. The action was severely dispersed by policemen in the uniform and in plain clothes. At the same time, policemen hindered the work of journalists and broke the camera that belonged to an operator of a Polish TV company TVP Vladimir Kostin.
