Ukraine plays down Belarus's phosphorous fears
The European Radio for Belarus called the headquarters of the Ukraine's Ministry for Emergencies department in the city of Lutsk, Volyn region in order to confirm or denounce media reports that the phosphorous cloud was allegedly moving towards the territory of Belarus.
The Ukrainian Ministry for Emergency's spokesman Vladimir Grushevski said there was no cloud and nobody suspended the harvesting campaign now in full swing.
"We have carried out air tests. The lab results displayed that the level of phosphorous antihydrates was within a standard norm across the whole region!" he told the European Radio for Belarus
Mr Grushevski said that this is the official data confirmed by the chief sanitary doctor of the Volyn region.
